This privacy policy has been developed and is maintained in accordance with all applicable national and international privacy and personal data protection laws and regulations and, specifically, with the Data Protection Act 2018 (UK regulations) and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation - European regulations).

By using the platform, registering as a user (Mentors and Mentees), posting a request (Mentees), bidding on a request from a Mentee (Mentors), using the functionalities available on the platform, participating in our forum, using our AI career coach, using our individual messaging system, using the ratings and comments system, posting an internship offer, applying for an internship offer, and contact us using our contact details, you consent to our collection, storage and use of your information under the terms set out in this privacy policy.

 

3. TYPES OF INFORMATION COLLECTED

The information we collect from our users helps us to continually improve the user experience on the platform. These are the types of information we collect:

Information you provide to us. You provide information when you register as a user (Mentors and Mentees), post a request (Mentees), bid for a request from a mentee (Mentors), use the functionalities available on the platform, participate in our forum, use our professional artificial intelligence advisor, use our individual messaging system, use the rating and comment system, post an internship offer, apply for an internships offer, contact us using our contact details and provide us with personal information to communicate with you. As a result of those actions, you may provide us with the following information:

• Date and place of birth
• Password

Information Collected Automatically (website): As you browse our website, certain usage data is automatically collected. These include technical information such as the IP address of your device, the type and version of your browser, the specific pages you visit on our website, the date and time of your access, the amount of time you spend on those pages, and other diagnostically relevant data.

In the case of access via mobile devices, we also collect information specific to these devices. This may include, but is not limited to, the type of mobile device used, its unique identifier, the IP address of the device, the mobile operating system and the type of mobile browser, along with other identifiers and diagnostic data.

In addition, we collect information that your browser automatically provides each time you visit our website or access our website using a mobile device.

Information Collected Automatically (application): bambw automatically collects certain types of information during users' use of the application. This collection includes technical data such as device type, operating system, device settings, application usage and interaction preferences. All data collected is handled in accordance with our privacy policy, ensuring its protection and confidentiality. 

Registration and account creation: Users can create an account on our platform in two ways: manually by entering an email address and setting a password, or by using their Apple, Facebook or Google ID. When registering through your Apple, Facebook or Google ID, the platform will access certain basic profile information provided by these services to complete the registration process. This information includes, but is not limited to, name and email address. We use this data exclusively for the creation and administration of your account on our platform. We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, ensuring that the handling of personal data complies with applicable data protection regulations.

Subscriptions: Users may purchase in-app subscriptions through the Apple App Store, Google Play or Stripe. User payment information, including credit card data or any other payment method, will be processed directly by these third party services and not by our platform. Each of these providers handles payment information under their own privacy and security policies. We recommend users review these policies to understand how their personal and payment data is handled by these third-party providers. Our application does not store or have access to users' financial details.

Payments and Payouts Data: Payment data refers to information related to your payment details, such as cardholder name, email, phone number, credit card number, expiration date, security code, etc., depending on the payment method selected by the user.

Your payment data will be processed by the third party payment processors available on this website (Stripe), which will process and store your data securely and for the sole purpose of processing transactions within the platform. bambw reserves the right to engage any payment processor available.

User Content: bambw collects, processes and stores user content, which includes data and information entered on our platform and text messages sent and received through the platform, solely for the provision and improvement of our services and the functionalities available on the platform.

Contact information: We may access some personal information about the user, such as name and email address, when the user or any third party communicates with us through our contact information. Personal information provided through our contact information is not stored on any bambw server and will be stored on the respective server of our email service.

 

4. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA

Personal data provided by users through the platform will be retained for the time necessary to provide the functionalities available on the platform, fulfil the legitimate purposes described in this policy or until the user closes the user account or requests the deletion of their data. bambw may retain personal data for a longer period provided that the user has consented to such processing, as long as such consent is not withdrawn. In addition, bambw may be obliged to retain personal data for a longer period provided that this is required for compliance with a legal obligation or by order of an authority. Once the retention period has expired, the personal data will be deleted. Therefore, the right of access, the right of deletion, the right of rectification and the right to data portability cannot be asserted after the retention period has expired.

6. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

Sharing of data between users: By using our platform, users consent to certain personal data being shared with other users of the platform in the context of posting a mentoring request (Mentee) or participating in a bid to offer mentoring (Mentor). The data that is shared includes email, contact number and name, and is provided by users when entering it in mentoring requests and bids.

This sharing of information is limited exclusively to the data necessary for Mentors and Mentees to establish direct contact and arrange mentoring sessions. This data is only shared between the Mentor and the Mentee involved in a specific transaction and is not extended to third parties or other users of the platform without the explicit consent of the parties involved.

The purpose of sharing this data is to facilitate effective communication and organization of mentoring, ensuring a productive and safe experience for all users involved.

Third-Party Service Providers. We use third-party services to perform certain functions on our platform. Some of these functions and services include: platform hosting (Google Play, App Store), payment processing (Google Pay, App Store, Stripe), sending emails, sending SMS messages, chat services, messaging services, and data tracking and analysis services on the platform.

These third-party services and tools may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use that information for other purposes. Information shared with these third-party services will be treated and stored in accordance with their respective privacy policies and our privacy policy. 

Marketing: By using our services and platform, you consent to the use of your personal information, including name and email address, for the sole purpose of receiving marketing communications about our platform and services. bambw respects your privacy and does not share this information with unaffiliated third parties. If you wish to stop receiving marketing communications, you can unsubscribe at any time by using the "unsubscribe" option available in the same marketing emails or by sending your request through our contact information. 

SMS text messages. By using our platform and the services available on the platform, you consent to the sending of text messages (SMS) to the phone number provided by the user during registration. These messages will be sent by us or through third party services, and will include relevant information about the services and functionalities available on the platform. We undertake to use your telephone number exclusively for these purposes and will not share it with other entities for promotional activities without your explicit consent. You may unsubscribe from receiving these messages at any time by following the instructions provided in the messages you receive.

Business Transfers. In the event bambw creates, merges with, or is acquired by another entity, your information will likely be transferred. bambw will send you an email or post a prominent notice on our platform before your information becomes subject to another privacy policy.

Protection of bambw and Others. We release personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce or apply our terms and conditions and other agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of bambw, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Anonymous Information. bambw uses anonymous browsing information collected automatically by our servers primarily to help us administer and improve the platform. We may also use aggregated anonymous information to provide information about the platform to potential business partners and other unaffiliated entities. This information is not personally identifiable.

In the event of a security breach that compromises the confidentiality of the personal data of our users, bambw undertakes to notify those affected in a timely manner. This notification will be made through the means of contact that have been provided by the user on our platform.
